Lazy morning. Yesterday evening I was feeling pretty down for whatever reasons, so i didn’t check what day trip I could do. But anyway, I was too scared to not be back on time for the train at 5 PM, so I didn’t bother.

I spent most of the day in one of the main parks of Chișinău. It’s a vast, hilly, and densely forested area, with no less than three lakes. It was quite lovely and I was in a much better mood. Not much more to report though, I just sat there and read, and went to a restaurant.

I’m quite sad though that I didn’t prepare better. I wanted to go explore more the countryside, where the wild things are, instead of just one city. Sorry Moldova, another time maybe.

Finally, I was on board that train, and very soon, I got chatting with Tammer from Brazil/United States and Ludmilla, which was, incredibly enough, from Transnistria! Which Tammer had visited just the day before too. It’s a self-proclaimed state/region of Moldova, that I didn’t want to go to because French government advise against it. From both their accounts, it’s actually a very safe place. But still, if anyhting would happen, I couldn’t count on embassy help, so better safe than sorry.

We got chatting for many hours, it was some super interesting talks. And Tammer paid for some beers. Legend.

We reached Ungheni station, got stamped out of the country, and the wheels got changed. After an hour and a half, we crossed the border river, which is called, get this Frenchies, Prut.

Ehe. Prut.

Buna România!

Another hour stop for passport control on the Romanian side, and off we went into the night. At least everything happened before 11 PM!
