🇮🇹 Napoli → Milano → Alessandria
I gladly left the honking streets of Napoli [Naples]. A shame I didn’t get to see this UNESCO-listed city, but it’s just too annoying for me to want to go further than the terrible station neighbourhood. If Darkness had a son, it would be a Napoli motorist. Maybe I’ll come back for the Vesuvius crater, and some authentic pizza…
Back in Trenitalia’s Ferrari, the Frescarossa, their high-speed train. Comfy and in less than five hours of flying swiftly over the Italian countryside, in its typical hilly glory, I was at Milano [Milan]. And yet again, for the millionth time, I will not see anything else than the train station. Although a different one this time. One day, Milano, one day.
This time I’m taking a slower double-decker regional train, to the charming little town of Alessandria. Let’s be clear: I only came here for the cheap hostel. But it’s such a lovely surprise! And not only the cute narrow but calm pedestrian streets, the hostel was amazing.
It’s located in a former convent, with a green inner court with tall trees, and rounded up by an arched courtway. The dorm room was huge and we were only two persons in it, and the bed comfortable.
