Europe. Our good old continent.

With a long and complex history, hundreds of tribes and civilizations having shared its lands, imposing or preserving their unique culture, their languages and identities, there is a lot to discover, to learn, people to meet.

Add to this a diversity of landscapes going from flat coastal fields to alpine mountains, primeval forests to endless fields and farmlands, where you can either walk in sandy deserts or get stuck in a thick mantle of snow, and you already have quite an interesting space to explore.

But now consider that most of these countries are linked with open borders, a common currency and an unlimited train pass, all that in a relatively compact area… and now you have quite a playground.

This trip was envisioned to last for 5 months, across every* country in Europe, by train. I will be mostly alone, with a few friends joining me for a few days here and there along the way.

I will be using the amazing Interrail pass, which allows you to take whatever train you want, for free (or for a small reservation fee when needed), in 34 countries in Europe and Turkey. I intend to stay at the very least 24 h in each of the 40 countries (mostly a few days of course!), sleeping in youth hostels or Airbnbs.

The goals? Seeing more of this old World, exploring this continent that I love, witnessing its natural and diverse beauty, getting to party in cities all over the place, having the best possible railway experiences each country has to offer, and getting disconnected from this life of daily office work for an actually long time.

If you’ve read up to this point, I hope you are in for the ride!
