Evasion plan 🇳🇱

22/02/2024

🇳🇱 Utrecht

Rest day! Finally. Not gonna lie, after the last two weeks, I needed one. I barely went outside, just went for some grocery with Marlon and a quick walk in the afternoon.

When you travel for several weeks when continuously moving, you need to take a break from time to time, and potentially to sacrifice a destination (I could have stayed one more night, but I’m a bit time-limited. More on this later.), and this time it was Utrecht.

Which is funny because I once came here in February 2016, but following an incident that involved an expensive car park and a smashed car key, that visit too had to be much shortened. Sorry Utrecht, you and I are just not meant to be. A shame really, you look quite gorgeous.

However, I did quite a lot of planification. I’m now all set from here to Sweden, where Alex will join me for a week that is already all planned out too, so I don’t have to worry about accomodation until March 7th. I also booked all the trains I’ll take in Norway.

Yeah, I know, where’s the spontaneity of the adventure? But you see, I will have to make some serious long-distance trips in Norway, and I need to meet Alex in Sundsvall on March 2nd. Who knows what he could do unsupervised? And the thing that should not be overlooked is that on these routes there aren’t a thousand train per day. Usually less than five, so better be safe.

Spoiler alert, here’s the plan: tomorrow in Hamburg, then two nights in Aarhus (where I’ll meet Marlon again), two nights in København [Copenhagen], one in Oslo, one in the Bergen-Oslo train, one in Trondheim, and then Sundsvall. Let’s hope it all works out.

Train count: + 0
Total: 50
