🇸🇮 Bled → Jesenice → Ljubljana
Started early morning by hiking back to the train station. It was a very pleasant walk along the lake, with at this time no tourists, just an old lady walking her little dog here and there. However, the final climb was demanding… I eased my pain with a Cockta.
It seems that I got lucky yesterday. Today, the Nova Gorica-Bled train that I took is replaced by a bus! We had to wait for it before getting on our way to Jesenice.
Waw waw waw! Again, the emerald mountains and valleys of Slovenia make my heart shivers. Stuff of beauty.
In Jesenice, the train to Ljubljana was waiting for us, so i jumped him and was whisked away through more amazing green sceneries. And everyone in Slovenia is so nice too!
Once in Ljubljana, I started by doing my laundry, in the exact same place where I dried it on my warm-up trip in 2022! It was quick and efficient, and still too early to check in at the hostel, so I just walked through Tivoli Park, one of the main things I had not done before. I was then just a short walk away from the lovely cute center of the city, with its pedestrian area and its bridges over the Ljubljanica river.
I checked in and quickly went back towards the castle, taking the funicular (I couldn’t resist). A quick walk around the castle and I went back in the main promenade along the river, had a drink, and went for some more walking.
God I love this city and this country.
