Beppino's hideout 🇮🇹

🇮🇹 Silea → Treviso → Venezia
It took quite a while for us to break free from the mesmerizing spell of the cats and get our asses moving. The sky was wonderfully blue and the temperature just perfect. The lords of Summer have gifted us with a perfect weather today.
Of course we saw the bus pass just in front of us and waited for the next one. It went through the old town though, so it was enjoyable.
We took another double-decker train and this time stopped for good in Venezia [Venice], but on the continent part, which is much bigger than the famous islands. We ate and left our stuff at the airbnb, just 5 min from the station. From there, there are a gazillion trains going to the islands so it was easy to pick one. Or so we thought. There were two different trains going there at the same exact minute. We took one of them but the controller said the ticket Duha had bought was not valid for this but only for regional trains. We didn’t quite understand at the time, so he just let us in.
The train goes over the same bridge as the cars and the tram, corssing the Venezia lagoon. Such a cool way to enter this wonderful place.
It’s great to be back here! The incredible architecture of those houses basically built in the water, all the canals, boats, the many tiniest of streets… We had coffee and gelato, and wandered half randomly in the city for a good while, until we reached the famous Rialto Bridge. From there, we walked to the Piazza San Marco, had some more drinks, walked around, and then ate at Beppino’s, a restaurant that I’ve already been to twice before, and where I ate the best Spaggheti Bolognese of my life. And I’ve ate a lot of those. Yes, Italy could be the only place in the World where I could travel for food.
We came back by doing the entire Grand Canal by boat. It’s a 45 min wonderful cruise, especially by night.
A last train and we were back on the continent.
